  1. Hey, I’m going through Judith Butler’s Gender Troubles and other gender-related theories and I don’t know how I ended up here, on this blog. You’re great, the Stranger Things analysis was really insightful and the way you explained Gender Troubles by comics made me laugh so hard. Keep on!!

  2. Great to find another queer blogger in Aus (I’m new to the blogging world, so I’m sure there are heaps more!). I love your style. I wonder if you’ll be attending the National LGBTI Health Alliance’s Health in Difference Conference in Canberra next month? I manage the Rainbow Program at Relationships Australia Qld and will be coming down to present. Anyhoo, thanks for a great blog! 🙂 Chris

  3. Hi Hannah! I’m so happy I’ve found your site; it feels a bit like coming (LGBTQIA+) home. I like how you combine your personal views with links & info about all things queer-related – it creates a great balance, making the information easier to absorb, and providing a lot of chances to smile too… Looking forward to reading more! /Emilie

  4. Hey.
I’ve just passed a good 30 minutes absorbing some of your posts. I must say, your writing is refreshing whilst your personal situation might make it read, sometimes, brutish to the rest of society.
The world needs more people like you, people with both eyes open and neither confined nor governed by the Rest.

    (Y) I look forward to more.

  5. Hey would you mind stating which blog platform you’re using?
I’m going to start my own blog soon but I’m having a tough time deciding between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
The reason I ask is because your design and style seems different then most
blogs and I’m looking for something completely unique.

P.S Apologies for being off-topic but I had to
    ask!

  6. I’m really enjoying the theme/design of your web site.
Do you ever run into any browser compatibility
issues? A number of my blog readers have complained about my
website not operating correctly in Explorer but looks great in Firefox.
Do you have any ideas to help fix this problem?

  7. Hi, My name is Shana Ye and I am a Phd candidate in feminist studies at the university of Minnesota. I love your Butler with Cat and Foucault with hipsters! I am originally from China and working on a blog in Chinese on gender and queering. I wonder if I can translate the Butler and Foucault strips and posted on my blog, and make a link to yours, so many Chinese who are interested in topics will have access to it. I would really appreciate it if you give me the permission. Besides, it would be also great if you could send me electronic copies of the original strips you made so I can make change on it.

    • Hi Shana,
I’m certainly happy for people to translate the work themselves, though I do suggest you find a copy of Gender Trouble and History of Sexuality in the language you are translating to + give references, so that people can find the right page numbers, etc. I’ll email you soon.
      🙂

  8. Is this blog still active? If so, you might recall that we communicated many months ago about hand-holding in same sex couples. I’d like to let you know that the two Che et al. 2013 papers on this topic are now out on line in the Journal of Homosexuality.

  9. Dear Hannah. Thanks for your work. How to find you on FB, or subscribe to regular updates from your blog via email ? (could not find it on your site). many thanks. anna

    • Thanks for the interest Anna! I don’t have a FB account for this site, but you can follow the blog if you are a wordpress user (there’s a “follow” button on the right hand column of the main page). Or you can find me on Twitter at @HannahKy Thanks again for reading! 🙂

  10. So I just sat for a 12 hour 7-7 nightshift and ready the whole blog, start to finish. Love the site! Love you too! And for the record, I might have a super massive gay dyke ladyfag crush on you 😉

  11. Excellent JB piece. I am interested in all things non-conforming around sexuality and gender. I think your blog will be an interesting follow.

  12. I can’t stop laughing and fascinated with hipsters and Foucault and Butler and cats …
I am a PhD student and I think you’ve discovered the only way to tell someone my research and that he did not die trying to listen to me.
    Congratulations

  13. Thank you for this blog – as another PhD student trying to write about non-binary, non-conventional relationships your thoughts are relevant and helpful. I’ve logged in here with my personal wordpress account, but my PhD blog is fwbresearch.wordpress.com if you are interested!
